A Quiet Place: Giorno 1, le prime reazioni elogiano il film
Dagli Stati Uniti arrivano i primi commenti della stampa americana su A Quiet Place: Giorno 1, e sono decisamente favorevoli al film di Michael Sarnoski (Pig).
Diverse reazioni elogiano le performance di Lupita Nyong’o e Joseph Quinn, ma sottolineano anche che il gatto Frodo (cui è stata dedicata una featurette) “ruba la scena”, e “vi farà trattenere il respiro ogni volta che apparirà sullo schermo”.
Alcuni eleggono questo prequel a loro capitolo preferito della saga. In ogni caso, vari commenti lasciano intendere che non sia il tipico film dell’orrore, ma abbia una sua originalità tematica e narrativa. A quanto pare, Sarnoski racconta una storia commovente sulla ricerca della pace interiore, e sulle connessioni che nascono da una situazione disperata. In generale, viene anche descritto come un film su scala più grande rispetto agli altri due, dato che mostra l’inizio dell’invasione aliena ed è ambientato a New York City. Un giornalista dice che, se i primi due capitoli corrispondono idealmente al primo Alien (storia più contenuta e dal ritmo più ponderato), questo invece corrisponde ad Aliens (più grande, più rumoroso, con più mostri).

A Quiet Place II ha esordito con 57 milioni di dollari negli Stati Uniti, un risultato persino migliore del primo capitolo, nonostante quest’ultimo sia uscito ben prima della pandemia. L’incasso globale è stato di 297 milioni di dollari, davvero notevole in tempi come quelli.
I produttori dello spin-off
Michael Bay, Andrew Form e Brad Fuller produrranno lo spin-off per la Platinum Dunes, assieme a Krasinski con la sua Sunday Night. Tra i produttori esecutivi c’è Allyson Seeger, co-fondatrice della stessa Sunday Night.
E il sequel?
La saga dovrebbe proseguire con A Quiet Place: Part III, sequel diretto del secondo capitolo, ma per il momento non ci sono conferme. Nel film precedente, Evelyn (Emily Blunt), Regan (Millicent Simmonds), Marcus (Noah Jupe) e il fratellino neonato erano riusciti a sopravvivere, come pure Emmett (Cillian Murphy). Il gruppo sembrava inoltre aver trovato un modo per uccidere i mostri.
