Il teaser trailer di Spider-Man: No Way Home ha inevitabilmente catalizzato l’attenzione del web ma la Sony durante il panel del Cinema-Con che si è svolto nella notte ha anche mostrato ai presenti – con gran sorpresa – Ghostbusters: Legacy.
E inevitabilmente sono arrivati i primi commenti su Twitter, che promuovono il film di Jason Reitman.

Il sequel che ho sempre aspettato di vedere. Il perfetto mix tra nostalgia classica e twist indirizzati prevalentemente alle nuove generazioni.

Il migliore della saga, punto. Scritto magnificamente, senza essere troppo nostalgico, racconta una storia addirittura migliore dell’originale.

Arrivati in una piccola città, una madre single e i suoi due figli iniziano a scoprire la loro connessione con gli Acchiappafantasmi originali e la segreta eredità lasciata dal nonno.
Paul Rudd interpreta Mr. Grooberson, un insegnante dei protagonisti Phoebe (McKenna Grace) e Trevor (Finn Wolfhard), figli della madre single Callie (Carrie Coon). Grooberson era un ragazzino nel 1984, quando gli Acchiappafantasmi combatterono contro Gozer a New York. Un evento che oggi è noto come “Manhattan Crossrip”, e dai più giovani è considerato quasi un mito.
Nel cast troviamo anche Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things, IT), Carrie Coon (The Leftovers, Fargo, Avengers: Infinity War), Mckenna Grace (Le terrificanti avventure di Sabrina, Captain Marvel), Celeste O’Connor, Logan Kim e Paul Rudd (Ant-Man, Avengers: Endgame). Con loro anche Oliver Cooper.
Ghostbusters: Legacy è un vero e proprio “passaggio di consegne” dietro la macchina da presa, poiché Jason Reitman è il figlio di Ivan Reitman, regista di Ghostbusters e Ghostbusters II.
Per Jason si tratta di un grande cambiamento nella sua carriera, che finora è sempre stata concentrata su commedie drammatiche e introspettive di natura semi-indipendente, come Thank You For Smoking, Tra le nuvole, Juno, Young Adult, Tully e il recentissimo The Front Runner. Il padre Ivan partecipa come produttore, mentre la sceneggiatura è stata scritta da Jason insieme a Gil Kenan (Monster House, Ember, Poltergeist). Il film arriverà nelle sale l’11 novembre 2021.
