BAFTA TV Awards – Vincono Peaky Blinders, The Handmaid’s Tale e Vanessa Kirby

Il premio per la miglior serie drammatica ai BAFTA TV Awards, assegnati ieri sera, è stato vinto per la prima volta da Peaky Blinders che ha sconfitto The Crown (a bocca asciutta per il secondo anno consecutivo), Line of Duty e The End of the Fxxking World.

Il creatore Steven Knight ha ringraziato il cast ed ha detto che i suoi interpreti – Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson – che sono stati snobbati nelle categorie per i migliori attori, un giorno saliranno anche loro sul palco.

Per il secondo anno Claire Foy non ha ricevuto un riconoscimento per la sua interpretazione della regina Elizabeth II, il premio è andato a Molly Windsor per la miniserie Three Girls, in compenso Vanessa Kirby, l’interprete della principessa Margaret ha vinto come miglior attrice non protagonista.

Sean Bean è stato premiato come miglior attore drammatico grazie alla sua interpretazione di un prete cattolico in Broken. Il premio per il miglior attore non protagonista è andato all’irlandese Brian F. O’Byrne per Little Boy Blue.

The Handmaid’s Tale di Hulu si è portato a casa il premio per la miglior serie internazionale.
