Venom: The Last Dance, le prime reazioni e uno spot con il piano di Knull
Dagli Stati Uniti arrivano i primi commenti su Venom: The Last Dance, il cui tenore prevedibilmente è sempre lo stesso: i giornalisti d’oltreoceano ne parlano come il film migliore della trilogia, divertente e senza pensieri.
Un punto importante sembra essere la trama più articolata rispetto ai capitoli precedenti, con una posta in gioco più alta. Pare inoltre che il rating PG-13 sia spinto ai limiti. Qualcuno tira in ballo i cinecomic dei primi anni Duemila (d’altra parte, si diceva lo stesso anche dei primi due), mentre le scene d’azione vengono paragonate agli action degli anni Ottanta. Più di un giornalista sottolinea come non sia certo un film perfetto, ma comunque divertente.
Per quanto riguarda Knull, l’impressione è che il Dio dei Simbionti venga introdotto con la promessa di affidargli un ruolo più ampio in futuro. Un nuovo spot lo mostra sul suo trono con la necrospada All Black, che nei fumetti ha il potere di uccidere gli dei: è già apparsa in Thor: Love and Thunder, dove però non aveva legami con Knull (o, almeno, non dichiarati). Venom possiede “una chiave” che può liberarlo, ed è per questo che Knull manda i suoi emissari sulla Terra per dargli la caccia. «Annienterò il tuo mondo» dice il Dio dei Simbionti, interpretato da Andy Serkis.

Knull is creepy, I loved the way they use him and set him up as a future threat. Fingers crossed this isn’t Tom Hardy’s last dance with Venom and that we’ll see him face-to-face with Spider-Man when we least expect it.

There are a few things here and there that didn’t quite work for me but there’s plenty to keep audiences engaged including some nice homages and more heart than I was expecting. Making her feature directorial debut, Kelly Marcel has done a solid job of spinning many plates here.

In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy torna a interpretare Venom, uno dei più celebri e complessi personaggi della Marvel. Nel film conclusivo della trilogia, Eddie e Venom sono in fuga. Mentre il cerchio si stringe attorno a loro, i due protagonisti sono costretti a prendere una decisione sconvolgente che farà calare il sipario sul loro “ultimo ballo”.

Regia e sceneggiatura
Alla regia troviamo stavolta Kelly Marcel, sceneggiatrice dei primi due film e anche di Saving Mr. Banks, Cinquanta sfumature di grigio e Crudelia. Il copione è stato scritto da lei con lo stesso Hardy, suo marito.
Il successo di Venom
Il primo Venom ha incassato più di 856 milioni di dollari in tutto il mondo, mentre il sequel Venom: La furia di Carnage si è fermato a 502 milioni (comunque notevole). Questo franchise ha inaugurato il Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, di cui fanno parte anche Morbius, Madame Web e il prossimo Kraven.
