Nel corso di Q&A che ha accompagnato la proiezione di Inside Out 2, Pete Docter il CCO della Pixar, ha rivelato che Andrew Stanton dirigerà Toy Story 5.

“Dopo la proiezione di Inside Out 2, il CCO della Pixar Pete Docter ha dichiarato che l’animazione si evolverà e avrà un aspetto molto diverso nei prossimi anni.
Ha anche apparentemente rivelato che il prossimo Toy Story 5 sarà diretto da Andrew Stanton, regista di lunga data della Pixar.”

Andrew Stanton
Stanton ha diretto tre film Pixar: Alla ricerca di Nemo e WALL-E che gli sono valsi l’Oscar per il miglior film animato e Alla ricerca di Dory. Ha inoltre scritto le sceneggiatura di otto film dello studio, tra cui: Toy Story, 2 e 4, A Bug’s Life, WALL-E, Monsters & Co. e Alla ricerca di Nemo.
Nel 2012 ha preso una pausa dall’animazione per dirigere John Carter, il suo prossimo film si intitola In the Blink of an Eye ed è un dramma fantascientifico. Nel cast Kate McKinnon, Rashida Jones e Daveed Diggs.
