The Hollywood Reporter segnala che Beck Bennett è entrato nel cast di Superman, dove presterà il volto a un “noto reporter” del Daily Planet, il giornale di Metropolis dove lavora Clark Kent.
In una foto di gruppo dal set, Bennett è visibile con i capelli pettinati all’indietro e un paio di baffi a ferro di cavallo: guarda caso, lo stesso look di Steve Lombard nei fumetti DC. Per chi non lo conoscesse, Lombard è il redattore sportivo del Planet, un arrogante ex giocatore di football che porta in redazione una mentalità da atleta delle superiori, e si diverte a prendere in giro i colleghi (Clark incluso). È stato creato da Cary Bates e Curt Swan nel 1973. Non ci sono conferme ufficiali sul ruolo, ma è possibile che sia proprio questo.

Beck Bennett è un attore comico che ha fatto parte del cast del Saturday Night Live dal 2013 al 2021. Apparso in film come Zoolander 2, Late Bloomer, Brigsby Bear, Plus One e Unfrosted, ha inoltre prestato la voce a I Mitchell contro le macchine, M.O.D.O.K., Big Mouth, Rick and Morty, Angry Bird 2 e DuckTales, per citarne alcuni.
