Creative Arts Emmys 2024: Cinque premi a Welcome to Wrexham nella seconda serata

La seconda serata della 75a edizione dei Primetime Creative Arts Emmys, tenutasi domenica sera presso il Peacock Theater a Los Angeles, è stata dedicata ai programmi sulle competizioni, non sceneggiati e documentaristici.

La serata è stata dominata da Welcome to Wrexham di Hulu, che ha ottenuto cinque vittorie tra cui Unstructured Reality Show, montaggio e fotografia. Ryan Reynolds ha così commentato la vittoria, dopo aver rubato la parola a Rob McElhenney:

“Wow, un Emmy, che onore incredibile. Ci sono così tante persone da ringraziare. Ho aspettato questo momento per 16 anni. Quindi ho molte cose da dire. Vorrei iniziare ringraziando”

Reynolds ha detto:

“Il signor Lively non ha potuto essere presente per accettare questo Emmy rotto, quindi ha mandato me in sua vece.

Innanzitutto, Wrexham, ti vogliamo bene. Grazie per aver permesso a Rob e all’altro tizio di raccontare la vostra storia. Vorrei anche ringraziare l’Academy per questo onore e per non averci chiesto di partecipare alla premiazione televisiva con le vere celebrità. Vorrei anche ringraziare FX e Disney per il loro sostegno e in cambio Mr. Lively promette di non rovinare il mio prossimo film”.

Gli altri vincitori

Still: La storia di Michael J. Fox si è aggiudicato quattro Emmy. Un emotivo Davis Guggenheim ha dedicato la vittoria del documentario all’attore. Il produttore ha detto che:

“Quello che rende Michael così meraviglioso è com’è e come vive: trova sempre l’umorismo, è sempre alla ricerca della saggezza, rifiuta di vivere con un’etichetta e ci mostra che ci sono doni da trovare, specialmente quando la vita lo richiede”.

Stephanie Filo è entrata nella storia come la prima montatrice a essere nominata in un solo anno per tre diversi show (“A Black Lady Sketch Show”, “Dahmer: Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”, “History of the World Part II”) e la prima montatrice nera a essere nominata tre volte in un solo anno. Ha vinto l’Emmy per il montaggio di un programma di varietà per “A Black Lady Sketch Show” della HBO, insieme alle colleghe Malinda Zehner Guerra e Taylor Joy Mason.

Un’altra vittoria storica è quella dell’attrice Keke Palmer che ha vinto l’Emmy come miglior conduttrice di un game show, Password. La Palmer è stata la prima donna nera a vincere nella categoria.
