L’Academy britannica ha annunciato le longlist delle 24 categorie dei EE Bafta Film Awards, Barbie, Oppenheimer e Killers of the Flower Moon sono presenti in 15 categorie ed entrambe in queste 12: miglior film, regia, attrice non protagonista, attore non protagonista, casting, fotografia, costumi, montaggio, trucco e acconciatura, colonna sonora originale, scenografia e sonoro.L’anno scorso solo Niente di nuovo sul fronte occidentale era stato nominato in 15 longlist.
Nella lista per il miglior film britannico troviamo anche Galline in fuga – L’alba dei nugget e Tetris.
Povere creature! di Yorgos Lanthimos è presente in 14 categorie e Maestro di Bradley Cooper in 12, entrambi sono presenti in quella per il miglior film tranne Saltburn di Emerald Fennell che troviamo in 11 categorie. Con dieci troviamo due pellicole britanniche: La zona d’interesse di Jonathan Glazer ed Estranei di Andrew Haigh, compreso miglior film. Con 8 Wonka e Napoleon (quasi tutte tecniche), con 7 Anatomia di una caduta, con 6 How to Have Sex e Past Lives, con 5 Ritrovarsi in Rye Lane e Ferrari e con 4 Scrapper.
Il secondo turno per le votazioni comincerà il 12 gennaio, le nomination verranno svelate il 18 gennaio alle 13:00 da Naomi Ackie e Kingsley Ben-Adir. Mentre la cerimonia di premiazione condotta da David Tennant si terrà il 18 febbraio presso la Royal Festival Hall del Southbank Centre a Londra.
