Pinocchio (Netflix) di Guillermo del Toro è il frontrunner agli Annie Awards, la pellicola Netflix si è aggiudicata ben 9 candidature; seguita da Red (Disney/Pixar) con 7 nomination e con 6 da Il gatto con gli stivali 2 – L’ultimo desiderio (Universal/DreamWorks) e Il mostro dei mari (Netflix). Con 5 invece Troppo cattivi (Universal/DreamWorks).

Per quanto riguarda le serie e gli speciali con il maggior numero di candidature è andato a Il bambino, la talpa, la volpe e il cavallo (Apple TV+), seguito con 6 da The House (Netflix) e da Oni: Thunder God’s Tale (Netflix) della Tonko House; con 5 da Love, Death + Robots (Netflix) e infine 3 nomination per BAYMAX! (Disney+).

INU-OH di Masaki Yuasa ha ricevuto due nomination: miglior lungometraggio indipendente e miglior sceneggiatura. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners dello Studio Trigger è stato nominato per miglior storyboard in TV/Media mentre Exception della Tatsunoko ha ricevuto una candidatura per miglior regia in TV/Media.

L’episodio Treehouse of Horror XXXIII dei Simpsons (20th Television Animation), che contiene la parodia di Death Note dello studio Sud-Coreao DR Movie è stato nominato nella categoria Maturo di TV/Media.
