Emmy 2022 – Le nomination della 74ma edizione

Sono state annunciate le nomination della 74ma edizione dei Primetime Emmy Awards, il più importante riconoscimento televisivo americano.

Il maggior numero di nomination è stato ottenuto dalla terza stagione di Succession di HBO che ne ha ottenute 25 (su 38 candidature), tra cui quella per la miglior serie drammatica. La prima stagione ha ottenuto 5 nomination, la seconda 18.

La prima parte della quarta stagione di Stranger Things ha ottenuto 13 candidature, tra quelle per i migliori interpreti notiamo l’assenza di Sadie Sink e Millie Bobby Brown candidate come migliori attrice non protagoniste.

Lo speciale comico The Closer di Dave Chappelle, che ha generato polemiche tra gli spettatori e il personale di Netflix, ha ottenuto una nomination nella categoria per il miglior spettacolo di varietà.

Le candidature principali sono state svelate da JB Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Jasmine Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) e Frank Scherma, presidente e CEO della Television Academy.

La storia

Zendaya è diventata la più giovane donna ad esser nominata nel ruolo di produttrice per Euphoria. Oltre alla nomination come miglior attrice drammatica, ne ha ottenute altre due per le canzoni: Elliot’s Song e I’m Tired di Euphoria.
È la prima giovane attrice ad aver ottenuto un totale di 2 candidature come miglior interprete, la prima donna di colore e la seconda persona di colore ad essere nominata sia per la sua interpretazione che come compositrice nello stesso anno.

Squid Game è la prima serie non in lingua inglese a ottenere una candidatura come miglior serie drammatica.

Quinta Brunson ha ottenuto tre storiche nomination per Abbott Elementary: miglior serie comedy, attrice protagonista in una serie comedy e sceneggiatrice (pilot). È la prima donna di colore a ottenere 3 candidature nello stesso anno e la più giovane (32) donna di colore ad essere nominata come miglior attrice in una serie comedy.

Selena Gomez infine è diventata la seconda latina ad ottenere una candidatura come produttrice di una serie comedy (Only Murders in the Building), dopo Salma Hayek (Ugly Betty, 2007).

Candidature postume

Chadwick Boseman è stato nominato per il doppiaggio di T’Challa nella serie animata What If …? di Disney+.

Norm Macdonald ha ricevuto una nomination postuma per lo speciale stand-up, pre-registrato, Nothing Special di Netflix.

Infine Jessica Walter ha ottenuto due consecutive nomination per il suo lavoro come doppiatrice in Archer.
