Annie Awards: 9 premi ad Arcane, 8 per I Mitchell contro le Macchine, Flee miglior indipendente

Grande vittoria per I Mitchell contro le Macchine alla 49a edizione degli Annie Awards, tenutasi ieri. La pellicola della Sony Pictures Animation/Netflix ha vinto in tutte e otto le categorie in cui era stata nominata.

La pellicola diretta da Mike Rianda e co-diretta da Jeff Rowe è stata inoltre premiata come miglior lungometraggio dell’anno, contro Encanto (Disney), Luca (Pixar), Raya e l’ultimo drago (Disney) e Sing 2 (Illumination/Universal).

Solo tre i premi andati a Encanto, aveva ricevuto nove nomination, per animazione del personaggio, storyboard e musica. Raya che aveva ricevuto il maggio numero di candidature, dieci, è rimasto a bocca asciutta.

La categoria per il miglior lungometraggio indipendente è stata vinta dal danese Flee del regista Jonas Poher Rasmussen. Ha battuto La vetta degli dei (vincitore ai Cesar), Belle di Mamoru Hosoda, La fortuna di Nikuko (Studio 4°C) e Pompo the Cinephile.

Sarà interessante vedere chi verrà premiato agli Oscar, ricordiamo che stasera Encanto ha vinto ai BAFTA.

Arcane, la serie animata di League of Legends creata da Christian Linke e Alex Yee, ha vinto in tutte e nove le categorie in cui era stata candidata, tra cui: sceneggiatura, effetti speciali, animazione del personaggio, Character Design, Production Design, Storyboard, regia, Best TV/Media – General Audience.

Netflix ha vinto in venti categorie.

Blythe Danner ha consegnato il Winsor McCay Awards a Ruben Aquino (animatore Disney), Lillian Schwartz (pioniera animazione al computer) e Toshio Suzuki (produttore Studio Ghibli).
