ADG Awards – Vincono Parasite, Avengers: Endgame e C’era una volta…a Hollywood

La 24esima edizione degli ADG Awards, tenutasi sabato sera all’InterContinental Los Angeles, si è conclusa con le vittorie di Parasite, Avengers: Endgame e C’era una volta…a Hollywood rispettivamente nelle categorie: scenografia contemporanea, fantasy e costume.

Dal 2006 la Guild ha diviso il premio principale in tre categorie, ma la vittoria in nessuna di queste fornisce una qualche certezza per un bis agli Oscar. Negli ultimi 15 anni le vittorie sono state così diverse e variegate che non possiamo parlare nemmeno di una categoria frontrunner.

L’ultimo vincitore cinematografico degli ADG è Toy Story 4, nella categoria animata. In ambito televisivo sono stati premiati: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Cherrnobyl, The Big Bang Theory, Russian Doll, The Umbrella Acedemy e Drunk History.

Chuck Lorre ha ricevuto il Cinematic Imagery Award tonight, mentre l’ADG Lifetime Achievement Awards è stato dato a: Joe Alves (Art Directors Council), a Denis Olsen (Scenic, Title and Graphic Artists Council), a Stephen Myles Berger (Set Designers and Model Makers Council) e a Jack Johnson (Illustrators and Matte Artists Council).

Infine sono entrati postumi nella ADG Hall of Fame: William J. Creber che ha lavorato in Il pianeta delle scimmie, L’avventura del Poseidon e L’inferno di cristallo; e a Roland Anderson che ricordiamo per il lavoro in Colazione da Tiffany, La baia di Napoli e Strano incontro.

Syd Mead (Blade Runner, Aliens e Tron) morto a dicembre, ha ricevuto postumo il William Cameron Menzies Award.
