Le Mans ’66 – La Grande Sfida vince ai Cinema Audio Society Awards

Le Mans ’66 – La Grande Sfida ha vinto alla 56esima edizione dei Cinema Audio Society Awards (CAS Awards) assegnati dall’Audio Society, per il miglior sound mixing in un film.

L’anno scorso il premio è stato assegnato a Bohemian Rhapsody che ha poi vinto l’Oscar per Best Achievement in Sound Editing Oscar. La pellicola di James Mangold concorre in quella categoria contro Ad Astra, Joker, 1917 e C’era una volta a Hollywood.

Negli ultimi dieci anni, in sei occasioni il vincitore del CAS award nella categoria cinema ha poi vinto l’Oscar.

Toy Story 4 ha vinto nella categoria animata mentre Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound in quella dedicata ai documentari.

In ambito televisivo i vincitori sono stati: Chernobyl, Game of Thrones e a pari merito Barry e Fleabag.

Premi speciali:

James Mangold ha ricevuto da Harrison Ford e da Paul Massey (rerecording mixer in Le Mans ’66) il Filmmaker Award. Il filmaker ha dichiarato:

“Non voglio essere coinvolgente, voglio essere emotivo. Non voglio far dimenticare alle persone cosa sta succedendo nel loro paese e mondo. Voglio far riflettere le persone su quello che sta accadendo nel mondo e non offrire una via di fuga”.

Il rerecording mixer Tom Fleischman (nominato ai CAS per The Irishman) ha ricevuto il Career Achievement Award, presentato dal sound mixer Gary Bourgeois e via video da Martin Scorsese:

“Non c’è regalo più grande che potrei avere se non svegliarmi e non veder l’ora di andare a lavorare, perché le persone con cui lavoro e le pellicole su cui lavoro sono meravigliose. [Ride.] E anche quelle che non sono meravigliose valgono la pena di cercare di fare un buon lavoro.”
