Oggi pomeriggio sono state annunciate le candidature alla 47esima edizione degli Annie Award, i premi americani dedicati al mondo dell’animazione in tutte le sue forme.

Netflix ha ricevuto un totale di 39 nomination tra pellicole e serie animate, segue con 18 la DreamWorks Animation e con 17 la Disney.
Conducono con 8 nomination Frozen 2 (regia, sceneggiatura, doppiaggio di Olaf, musica, effetti, character animation e character design) e Missing Link (regia, doppiaggio Jin, effetti, character animation, production design, montaggio e due per lo storyboarding). Seguiti con 7 da Klaus e con 6 da Toy Story 4, Dov’è il mio corpo e Dragon Trainer 3: Il mondo nascosto.
Frozen 2 (Disney), Missing Link (Laika), Dragon Trainer 3: Il mondo nascosto (DreamWorks Animation), Klaus (Netflix) e Toy Story 4 (Pixar) si contendono il titolo di miglior film dell’anno.
Mentre Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles (Hampa Animation Studio), Okko’s Inn (Madhouse), Promare (TRIGGER, XFLAG) e Weathering With You (CoMix Wave Films) distribuiti da GKIDS e Dov’è il mio corpo (Netflix), si contendono il titolo di miglior film animato indipendente.
Spie senza copertura dei Blue Sky Studios ha ottenuto due candidature, assente invece nelle categorie d’animazione che live action degli Annie, Il re leone di Jon Favreau.
Il premio alla carriera Winsor McCay Award verrà consegnato quest’anno a Henry Selick, Ron Clements e a John Musker, postumo a Satoshi Kon.
