Detective Pikachu - Le prime reazioni elogiano il film dei Pokémon

Alcuni membri della stampa internazionale hanno potuto vedere Detective Pikachu in Giappone, e le prime reazioni sono unanimemente favorevoli al film dei Pokémon.

I critici elogiano i contenuti emotivi della storia, uniti a una notevole abilità nel costruire un mondo fantastico: stando a questi commenti, sia i fan di lunga data sia i neofiti potranno apprezzare il film. Molti premiano l’interpretazione di Justice Smith (il protagonista Tim Goodman) e l’alchimia con Pikachu. Pare inoltre che i Pokémon siano moltissimi – com’è stato confermato anche dall’ultimo video – e che Psyduck sia adorabile… ma questo lo sapevamo già.

The first act is Who Framed Roger Rabbit with Pokémon and works so well. Seeking other movie tropes instead of video game ones gives Detective Pikachu a sturdy foundation to do some silly Poké stuff.

Regia, sceneggiatura e produzione

Basato sul videogioco Great Detective Pikachu, il film è diretto da Rob Letterman (Piccoli brividi), mentre la sceneggiatura è stata affidata ad Alex Hirsch (Gravity Falls) e Nicole Perlman (Guardiani della Galassia, Captain Marvel). La produzione è curata da Legendary Entertainment e The Pokémon Company.

Trama e cast

Justice Smith interpreta Tim Goodman, un ragazzo che arriva in città per cercare il padre scomparso, con l’aiuto della giornalista Lucy (Kathryn Newton) e dell’eponimo Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds), un esemplare particolarmente arguto della sua specie, portato per l’investigazione.

Ken Watanabe presterà il volto al detective Yoshida. Il cast include anche Bill Nighy, Chris Geere, Suki Waterhouse, Rita Ora e Rob Delaney. La distribuzione internazionale (Giappone escluso) è curata da Universal Pictures.

La sinossi

I fan di tutto il mondo potranno vedere Pikachu sul grande schermo come mai visto prima, nel ruolo del Detective Pikachu, un Pokémon come nessun altro. Il film mostra anche una vasta gamma di amati personaggi Pokémon, ognuno con le sue abilità e personalità singolari e uniche.
La storia inizia quando il geniale detective privato Harry Goodman scompare misteriosamente, costringendo il figlio di 21 anni Tim a scoprire cosa sia successo. Ad aiutarlo nelle indagini l’ex compagno Pokémon di Harry, Detective Pikachu: un adorabile, esilarante e saggio super-investigatore che soprende tutti, persino se stesso.

Avendo scoperto che i due sono equipaggiati per comunicare tra loro in modo singolare, Tim e Pikachu uniscono le loro forze in un’avventura elettrizzante per svelare l’intricato mistero. Si trovano così ad inseguire gli indizi lungo le strade illuminate al neon di Ryme City, una moderna e disordinata metropoli dove umani e Pokémon vivono fianco a fianco in un iperrealistico mondo live-action. Qui incontreranno una serie di Pokémon, scoprendo una trama sconvolgente che potrebbe distruggere la loro coesistenza pacifica con gli umani e minacciare l’universo stesso dei Pokémon.
