La 30ma edizione dei Producers Guild Awards, tenutasi ieri sera al Beverly Hilton, ha eletto Green Book come miglior film dell’anno. Il Darryl F. Zanuck Award per la miglior produzione cinematografica è stato consegnato ai produttori: Jim Burke, Charles B. Wessler, Brian Currie, Peter Farrelly e Nick Vallelonga.
Tra questo premio e il Golden Globe per la categoria musical o commedia, la pellicola è diventata il nuovo frontrunner nella corsa agli Oscar. Ricordiamo inoltre che in 29 anni, in venti casi la pellicola che ha vinto questo premio ha poi ricevuto l’Oscar per il miglior film, 21 se contiamo il pari-merito del 2013 tra Gravity e 12 anni schiavo.
Rimanendo in campo cinematografico, Spider-Man: Un nuovo universo ha vinto come miglior film animato, Won’t You Be My Neighbor? come miglior documentario.
L’ultima stagione di The Americans ha vinto come miglior show drammatico e La fantastica signora Maisel vince il secondo Danny Thomas Award come miglior show comico. Ricordiamo che la produttrice esecutiva e creatrice, Amy Sherman-Palladino, è stata inoltre premiata con il Norman Lear Award, il premio alla carriera, assieme a Jane Fonda (Stanley Kramer Award); Toby Emmerich (Milestone Award) e Kenya Barris (2019 Visionary Award).
