Sono stati annunciati i vincitori della seconda edizione dei Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society (LAOFCS). The Hate U Give ha ottenuto quattro statuette tra cui miglior film, attore non protagonista (Russell Hornsby), attore emergente (Amandla Stenberg) e sceneggiatura non originale. Eighth Grade di Bo Burnham ha vinto come miglior film indipendente, opera prima e miglior performance di un’attrice di 23 anni o meno (Elsie Fisher).
Il miglior attore è Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody), la migliore attrice Toni Collette (Hereditary), miglior regista uomo Spike Lee (BlacKklansmanwins), donna Lynne Ramsey (You Were Never Really Here). Roma ha vinto sia come miglior film straniero che fotografia.
La Favorita ha vinto come miglior commedia e miglior cast, Mission: Impossible Fallout come miglior film d’azione e lavoro delle controfigure. Il premio per il miglior blockbuster va a Black Panther, quello per il miglior film animato a Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse mentre quello per il miglior horror/sci-fi è stato vinto da A Quiet Place.
