Independent Spirit Awards 2019 – We The Animals guida le nomination, seguito da Eighth Grade e First Reformed

Per il terzo anno consecutivo il distributore A24 ha ottenuto il maggior numero di nomination ai Film Independent Spirit Award: 12 le candidature dell’edizione 2019, un calo rispetto alle 17 dell’anno scorso. Seguono con sei Amazon Studios, Netflix e The Orchard, con cinque Annapurna Pictures.

Ma passiamo ai film, We The Animals di Jeremiah Zager (Orchard) presentato al Sundance ottiene cinque nomination: montaggio, fotografia, opera prima, Someone to Watch award, e miglior attore non protagonista. Non riesce ad aggiudicarsi quella per il miglior film.

Eighth Grade, First Reformed e You Were Never Really Here seguono con quattro. Eighth Grade, opera prima di Bo Burnham, è nominato come miglior film, attrice protagonista (Elsie Fisher), sceneggiatura e miglior attore non protagonista (Josh Hamilton). First Reformed è nominato come miglior film, regia e sceneggiatura (Paul Schrader) e attore protagonista (Ethan Hawke).
Presentato al Festival di Cannes You Were Never Really Here concorre per: miglior film, regia (Lynne Ramsay), attore protagonista (Joaquin Phoenix) e montaggio.

If Beale Street Could Talk di Barry Jenkins invece ottiene tre candidature: miglior film, regia e attrice non protagonista (Regina King). Senza lasciare traccia, che trovate ancora nei nostri cinema, è nominato come miglior film, regia (Debra Granik), attrice non protagonista (Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie).

Il cast e i direttore del casting di Suspiria di Luca Guadagnino, sono stati premiati con il Robert Altman Award.

Infine nella categoria per il miglior film straniero, l’italiano Lazzaro Felice proverà a battere Roma di Alfonso Cuaron, The Favourite e Un affare di famiglia di Kore’eda.
