Creative Arts Emmy Awards – Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tim Rice e John Legend ottengono l’EGOT

Un’edizione storica, non ci sono altri termini per definire la cerimonia 2018 dei Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Dopo le importanti vittorie di sabato sera di cui vi abbiamo parlato ieri, domenica sera il pubblico ha potuto assistere ad un altro momento importante della storia degli Emmy e della musica.

I produttori Tim Rice, Andrew Lloyd Webber e John Legend sono entrati nella famiglia EGOT (i vincitori dei premi Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony), che fino a l’altro giorno includeva solo 12 persone, grazie al loro lavoro in Jesus Christ Superstar Live In Concert premiato come Outstanding Variety Special Live e vincitore in cinque delle sei categorie a cui era stato nominato.

Rice, Webber, Legend (il primo afro-americano ad ottenere lo stato EGOT) sono saliti sul palco assieme al produttore Neil Meron che ha ricordato il partner Craig Zadan (produttore di Chicago) morto tre settimane fa: “A Craig sarebbe piaciuto”.

Saturday Night Live ha vinto sette premi come Game of Thrones, seguito con cinque vittorie da Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown e con quattro da RuPaul’s Drag Race. Hanno vinto in tre categorie Last Week Tonight with John Oliver e Queer Eye.
