Oggi pomeriggio sono state annunciate le nomination dei SAG Awards, i premi per le migliori interpretazioni al cinema e sul piccolo schermo. Ancora una volta è la Fox Searchlight ad aver raccolto il maggior numero di nomination, sette, seguita a a ruota dalla A24, cinque.
Il film con il maggior numero di candidature è Tre Manifesti a Ebbing, Missouri, ricevute per le prove di Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson e Sam Rockwell. Il film ha ottenuto anche una candidatura nella categoria per la miglior prova corale, assieme a The Big Sick (snobbato ai Golden Globes), Get Out, Lady Bird e Mudbound.
Segue con 3 nomination Lady Bird, grazie alle prove di Saoirse Ronan e Laurie Metcalf, con due troviamo: I, Tonya (Margot Robbie ed Allison Janney), Get Out e Mudbound.
Importante la candidatura di James Franco per The Disaster Artist, visto che raramente il protagonista di una commedia ottiene una nomination in questa categoria. A questo punto potremmo vedere il nome di Franco alle nomination per gli Oscar.
Per quanto riguarda la televisione, questa volta è Netflix a dominare con 19 candidature, a 12 troviamo la HBO. Impressionante la categoria per la miglior attrice in una serie drammatica occupata quasi completamente da Netflix, l’unica ‘eccezione’ è rappresentata da Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale).
Lo show con il maggior numero di candidature è Big Little Lies: Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern e Reese Witherspoon sono state nominate nella categoria per la miglior interpretazione di un’attrice in una miniserie/film per la tv, e dovranno scontrarsi con Jessica Lange e Susan Sarandon protagoniste di Feud: Bette and Joan della FX. La quarta nomination è andata a Alexander Skarsgård.
Includendo la nomination per la miglior prova corale delle controfigure, troviamo a 4 candidature: Stranger Things (Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour) e GLOW, mentre con 3 Game of Thrones (Peter Dinklage).
