Una vittoria da record è stata ottenuta ieri sera durante la premiazione degli Olivier Awards, Harry Potter e la Maledizione dell’Erede si è portato a casa 9 delle 11 statuette a cui era stato candidato: miglior nuova opera teatrale, attore Jamie Parker (Harry Potter), regista, luci (Neil Austin), suono (Gareth Fry), set (Christine Jones) e costumi (Katrina Lindsay), miglior attore non protagonista Anthony Boyle (Scorpius Malfoy) e migliore attrice non protagonista Noma Dumezweni (Hermione Grainger)
Groundhog Day di Tim Minchin è stato premiato come miglior musical, il suo protagonista Andy Karl ha vinto come miglior attore, mentre Amber Riley (Glee) si è aggiudicata il premio per la miglior attrice di musical con il ruolo di Effie White in Dreamgirls.
J.K. Rowling non era presente alla cerimonia ma ha postato su Twitter la sua reazione:
