Il sindaco degli sceneggiatori americani, ovvero The Writers Guild of America (WGA) hanno annunciato le nomination per le migliori opere scritte per la televisione, i nuovi media, la radio, i notiziari e le opere di promozione nell’anno 2016.
Tra queste categorie spuntano quella animata e quella dei programmi per bambini.
Elena di Avalor, i Simpson e Star Wars Rebels ottengono una nomination ciascuno, mentre il più adulto BoJack Horseman se ne aggiudica due.

Tra i programmi per bambini nominati, solo due titoli sono famigliari anche al pubblico italiano: Girl Meets World la serie tv di Disney Channel e il sequel di Crescere, che fatica! e Sesamo apriti (titolo originale: Sesame Street) il programma educativo per bambini in cui compaiono alcuni pupazzi Muppet.
