Sono state annunciate poco fa le nomination per la 29esima edizione degli Independent Spirit Awards, gli Oscar del cinema indipendente americano che verranno consegnati il 1 marzo 2014 a Santa Monica poco prima degli Academy Awards, come da tradizione.
L’anno scorso fu Il Lato Positivo di David O’Russell a dominare, e fu l’anticamera dell’Oscar per Jennifer Lawrence. Quest’anno è invece 12 Years a Slave di Steve McQueen (Shame) a raccogliere i maggiori consensi (6 candidature tra cui Miglior Film): è tra l’altro uno dei titoli che con tutta probabilità raccoglierà un fiume di candidature anche agli Oscar.
Come potete vedere tutte le pellicole candidate hanno un budget al di sotto dei 20 milioni di dollari, per questo mancano front-runner come Gravity (100 milioni di dollari), Captain Phillips, American Hustle e Saving Mr. Banks.
Tra i film nominati c’è anche La Grande Bellezza del nostro Paolo Sorrentino, finito nella cinquina dei migliori film internazionali.
