Le reazioni pubblicate su twitter sono generalmente positive, mentre in una recensione pubblicata da un utente di ScreenCrush, che ha chiesto di non condividerla in rete, il giudizio sul film non è così esaltante. L’utente nota che il terzo atto del film non regge, e che avrebbe funzionato meglio nel caso fosse stata una clip di Funny or Die su ‘Dove si trovano adesso [i protagonisti]?’. Le battute inoltre sono state basate su molti cliché interrazziali.
Trattandosi di un test screening, sicuramente dopo aver sentito le reazioni del pubblico, il regista Adam McKay e il produttore Judd Apatow saranno già tornati in sala di montaggio per sistemare le parti che non state accolte molto bene, e tempo a loro disposizione ne hanno parecchio visto che il film uscirà in America a dicembre.
Nel cast del film, che arriverà nelle sale americane il 20 dicembre, troviamo anche Harrison Ford, James Marsden, Kristen Wiig, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Christina Applegate, Meagan Good, Dylan Baker, Greg Kinnear e Josh Lawson. La storia sarà incentrata sul ritorno del team delle news serali di Channel Four della KVWN-TV e sarà ambientata nel 1978, quando fu introdotto per la prima volta, il ciclo di 24 ore delle news, nei canali via cavo e via satellite, che si occupavano esclusivamente di informazione.
