Rivale a distanza della nostra Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica di Venezia (le due manifestazioni si svolgono a soli pochi giorni di distanza), il Festival di Toronto ha appena annunciato il suo programma. La kermesse canadese parte alla grande con The Fifth Estate: il film su WikiLeaks e sul suo fondatore Julian Assange qui interpretato dal grande Benedict Cumberbatch (il villain di Into Darkness Star Trek e protagonista nella serie televisiva Sherlock).
Poi, in programma troviamo altri titoli molto attesi dei prossimi mesi come 12 Years a Slave: la storia di schiavitù e ribellione del grande Steve McQueen con un cast stellare che vede il già nominato Cumberbatch, Michael Fassbender, Chiwetel Ejiofor e Brad Pitt. Inoltre, segnaliamo Devil’s Knot di Atom Egoyan con Reese Witherspoon e Colin Firth, August: Osage County di John Wells con Meryl Streep e Julia Roberts, Labor Day di Jason Reitman con Josh Brolin e Kate Winslet e la commedia You Are Here di Matthew Weiner con Jack Black, Matt Dillon, Renée Zellweger, Rachel McAdams e Zach Galifianakis.
Nel ricchissimo programma c’è spazio anche per un bel gruppetto di autori italiani: Paolo Sorrentino con La Grande Bellezza, Gianni Amelio con L’intrepido e Daniele Luchetti con Anni Felici.
