Inizialmente programmato per un rilascio limitato di sole due settimane, visto il successo clamoroso al botteghino la Sony non ha potuto che prolungare la permanenza in sala di This Is It, il film-documentario che ha seguito il re del pop Michael Jackson durante le prove del suo This Is It Tour, appunto, che avrebbe dovuto portare dal vivo in Inghilterra lo scorso Luglio (praticamente un mese dopo la sua morte).
La conseguenza è stata che il rilascio del dvd, atteso poco dopo l’arrivo nelle sale del film, fu rimandato a data da destinarsi. Ebbene oggi arriva il comunicato ufficiale della Sony che annuncia l’arrivo di This Is It in formato DVD e Bly-Ray il 26 Gennaio. Entrambe le versioni conteranno diversi contenuti speciali, tra cui due versioni dei celebri video di Jackson Smooth Criminal e Thriller.
Ma non finisce qua: se l’avete perso al cinema, e non riuscite ad aspettare fino alla fine di Gennaio, non preoccupatevi. La Mediaset si è infatti accaparrata i diritti in esclusiva della trasmissione di This Is It, che arriverà in prima serata su Italia Uno Domenica 10 Gennaio.

Secondo il press release di Sony dal 12.12.2009, il DVD per l’Europa arriva solo il 22 Febraio 2010, ma con qualche extra che non ci sarà negli Stati Uniti.
